So I’m an extremely conservative seasoner. At least I was. I always used to just stick with salt and pepper and ignored the vast array of spices I had sitting right next to me. However, I’ve recently begun to add spices and oh man are they game changers or what. Spices allow you to add so much flavor without adding many calories at all. For example, I always eat a corn and black bean burrito for lunch. Deliciously fartacious, I know. However, I began to mix some paprika and cumin in to the corn and oh god, flavor danger. I also added cinnamon and nutmeg to a vegetable bake I made and again, the spices added so much flavor. Just a PSA to all you new cooks and cookettes, use your spices wisely.
